Art Direction
AASHIYANA: Home
Director / Producer / Scenic Designer
Aashiyana, meaning “Home” in Hindi & Urdu, was a two-act cabaret curated over a year to narrate the journey of finding community and joy in America. With a focus on people of color, my goals as the director of this project were to bring unheard stories to light with songs from all over the world, represented in 7 different languages.
PAROCHIAL
Writer / Director
Written to highlight the feelings of powerlessness, anxiety, and being stuck in undesirable conditions, Parochial was the first fully fledged film that I ever had the chance to create. Supported by a grant from the Multicultural Filmmakers Collective at Northwestern, my goal as the writer and director was to develop a story focused on strength and finding courage in dark and absurd places.
